He founded The Artificers Guild in 1901 with his wife and Edmund Spencer. At this early stage of the Guild, all the silver or gold produced carried Nelson Dawson's own maker's mark, N.D. The enamelling was carried out by Dawson's wife, Edith. In about 1914 they both returned to painting. Condition report disclaimer
