Henry Lyttelton to upper blank margin, front free endpaper inscribed "To Slade Baker Esqr. from his faithful & obliged friend Lyttelton, Hagley, Novr. 21. 1828", contemporary diced calf (with bookseller's label of Reynolds & Son, 137 Oxford Street to upper pastedown), gilt decorated spines, boards detached and some wear, folio Upcott vol. III, p.1330-1337. William Henry Lyttelton, 3rd Baron Lyttelton (1782-1837) of Hagley Hall, Worcestershire was a Whig politician and Member of Parliament for Worcestershire. He was the son of William Henry Lyttelton, 1st Baron Lyttelton (Colonial Governor of South Carolina from 1756-1760). He married Lady Sarah Spencer daughter of George John 2nd Earl Spencer in 1813. Lady Sarah was for a time governess to the children of Queen Victoria and a Lady of the Bedchamber. (2)
