Beschreibung:

Von Puttkamer's copies of 7 NASA press releases and related public documents, most apparently Xeroxed, in original black binder. Approximately 180 total pages relating to Apollo 10 and 11, including lengthy transcript of the Mission Director's Briefing and a “Crew Profile” with biographic data on then little-known Astronauts Armstrong, Collins and Aldrin. Includes technical sketches and diagrams (outline of the Lunar Lander) and Puttkamer’s original ink notations. Von Puttkamer, much younger than Von Braun and other German immigrants who founded the American space program after World War II, was born the year Hitler came to power and was just a child during the War. He did not leave Germany to join Von Braun’s team until 1962, becoming an American citizen five years later. After retirement from NASA he wrote pulp science fiction and was consultant to the 1979 Star Trek movie which theorized a faster-than-light“space warp drive” and the now-familiar “Worm Hole effect”
