NAPOLEON I -- A collection of 209 volumes, relating to Napoleon, from the North Mymms Park Library. Mainly London and Paris: 1796-1903. 8°, various sizes. The set uniformly and finely bound in 20th-century red morocco, the covers with multiple gilt fillets, at each corner a wreathed 'N', an imperial eagle or a bee, tooled in gilt, the spines similarly tooled in six compartments, gilt inner dentelles, t.e.g. (occasional light rubbing). Provenance : Major-General Sir George Burns, North Mymms Park Library (house sale, Christie's 26-27 Sept. 1979, lots 874, 879, 882, 886, 893, 896-8, 903, 905, 915, 923, 926, 929A, 931-2, 935, 940, 942, 946, 948, 958, 961, 973, 981, 986).
