Original green printed wrappers (light chipping to extremities, small tear to lower corner of volume one, spine unglued volume one, tape repair to foot of spine of volume 2, ink lightly smudged on volume 2). FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE, with printed price "Francs: 900" on back cover. This controversial novel was rejected by American publishers, but was finally accepted by the avant-garde Olympia Press in Paris and published in this two-volume edition.
