A Russian Belle Époque aquamarine and diamond pendant, of teardropped and asymetrical form, set with three facet-cut aquamarines and rose-cut diamonds in foliage, mounted in gold. Presumably indistinct maker’s marks, Moscow 1908–1917. H. (incl. eyelet) 6 cm. A Russian 14k gold chain enclosed. Maker’s mark AM, St. Petersburg 1908–1917, 56 standard. L. 48 cm. (2). Provenance: The grandmother of the Danish seller’s husband, Anna Cathrine Præst. She and her husband, Hans Cornelius Præst, were from Rømø Island, but lived in St. Petersburg 1903–1917, where he was director of his own stevedore company.
