32 caliber, serial number 569151. U.S. property marked. Checkered walnut wood grips with medallion. In its original brown cardboard box complete with original cleaning rod. General officer's belt, pouch, holster and extra container for two clips. Brigadier General A.H. Dowd was an officer with the Company I 2nd Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry Buena Vista Guards. PLUS lot further includes the related The Colt U.S. General Officers' Pistol book by Horace Greeley IV. Lot further includes documentation on WWII Connections which reads as follows The great grandfather of Joel Rasho was the security officer assigned to the Augsberg detention camp. This camp was used to hold the highest ranking German Officers at the close of the war. Because of his position, Lt. Col A.H. Dowd was able to photograph and gain access to the interviews of such leaders as Hermann Goering, Gustaf Jodl, and Albert Speer Provenance: Property belonged to BG A.H. Dowd. Purchased from James D. Julia 4/17/2000. Condition: New.
