MIOCHIN MUNEKATSU: An Iron Tsuba, Edo Period, of mokko form pierced with a double gourd and an axe within the raised rim and chased with omodaka leaves and an inscription, signed Miochin Munekatsu (?), 8.8cms; YOSHIMICHI: An Iron Tsuba, the well worked plate of mokko form and pierced with two udenuka-ana, the histu-ana plugged with pewter, signed Yoshimichi, 8.4cms, and other tsubas comprising; An Iron Bushu School Tsuba, Edo Period, of circular form pierced and carved within the flattened rim with horses amid shaped reserves representing mist and grasses on the Musashi Plain, 8cms, unsigned: A Hizen Tsuba, Edo Period, of octagonal form decorated within the slightly raised rim with a textured field within which sits a rhombus, hitsu-ana plugged in shakudo, 8.1cms. An Iron Sukashi Tsuba, Edo Period, pierced within the rounded rim with two chrysanthemum heads and a pine, 7.7cms; A Smaller Iron Sukashi Tsuba, Edo Period, pierced within the faux bamboo rim with two kanji, one either side of the seppa-dai, unsigned, 7.1cms An Iron Choshu School Tsuba, Edo Period, of irregular, rounded rectangular form pierced and carved with a wind-blown chrysanthemum flower and foliage, 7.4cms, signed Tomokane; A Yamakichibei Style Iron Tsuba, Edo Period, the thin plate of octi-lobed form and pierced with stylised chidori and other elements, 8cms.
