He was appointed Corporal in 1809 and embarked for Portugal in September 1811, remaining in the Peninsula and France until his discharge from the 61st Foot on 3 November 1814. He is known to have subsequently served in the 8th Royal Veteran Battalion and later resided at Gateshead, County Durham. Sold with copied muster details and other research.
