[MILITARIA]. – [BOEING VERTOL]. A group of models and prints of the unproduced Boeing XCH-62 helicopter. Circa 1970s. Includes: 2 concept prints of the XCH-62 in action. Matted and framed. Largest, 35 x 28 ½”. – 2 models of the XCH-62, both crafted by XCH-62 designer Charles M. Wax. First is a desk-sized model, length 20”. Second model in parts, contained in large wooden box measuring 18 x 31 ¾ x 9 ¾”. Overall condition good. A proposal for a Heavy Lift Helicopter (HLH) was requested by the U.S. Department of Defense in November 1970. The design was an extremely popular one, and a prototype was completed in 1975. Due to mechanical issues the helicopter was never completely, and in 2005 was scrapped altogether. Provenance: The estate of Charles M. Wax.
