Kikarwa who was injured in the blast, (lot). John Sydney Watts, was stationed with the RAF in Hong Kong from 1950 to 1955. He visited Hiroshima on holiday in July 1952, where the chief priest of the Sarengi Temple gave him the tile, along with the piece of stamped parchment to say he had been presented with it. Written on the tile are the words 'Presented to Willie Watts by Rev S.T. Katsaki, the chief priest of Sairenji Temple, and on the parchment,'The Atom Struck Tile'. This fragment of roof tile was struck by the heat rays of 6ooo degrees C for one tenth of a second in a bomb explosion and thus got granulated on the surface. Found on the site of Sairenji Temple, the explosion centre of Hiroshima by Rev. S.T. Katsaki, the chief priest of Sairenji.
