Oblong 2° (294 x 430mm). 17 hand-coloured plates (7 lithographed, 10 aquatint), heightened with gum-arabic, each cut to the edge of the image and mounted on a light brown sheet, with a thick black-ink ruled border, and titled in French in a contemporary manuscript hand beneath. Contemporary morocco-backed cloth (spine scuffed and slightly cracked). A selection of very fine views of Milan, including two views of the interior of La Scala , an unusual view of the church and piazza of 'St. Fidèle' in the snow, and, finest of all, a view of the cool summer interior of the Duomo with the early morning sun, caught by the dust-motes, highlighting a family group in the foreground.
