London: sold at Auction by Leigh and Sotheby, December 1813. 2 parts in 1 volume. 8vo (220 x 138 mm). [4], 119, [1]; 25, [1] pp. Printed price list at end with separate title. Sheet of manuscript addition of prices bound in, and manuscript addition within text. Period half red morocco. Leaf with Turner's manuscript foxed, minor rubbing to edges. Provenance: DAWSON TURNER (ownership signature dated 1813, page of manuscript notes on items in sale); Earl of Crawford (armorial bookplate); Alan G. Thomas (bookplate). DAWSON TURNER'S COPY, ON FINE PAPER. The manuscript total value of the Merly Library accounts for over thirteen thousand pounds. Highlights included the Biblia Pauperum Blockbook: £257.5.0 to Sir G.P. Turner; Caxton, The Game of Chesse, second edition, £173.5.0 to the Duke of Devonshire; and Caxton, The Boke of Tulle, 1481, £210.0.0 to the Marquess of Blandford.
