Classic work, embellished with nearly 200 plates. A 14-line autograph note signed by an unknown hand, dated October 1795 tipped-in following the editor’s preface in Volume I (1” chip mended on top right corner). Lot Amendments Condition: Slipcases heavily worn; volume spines faded to brown; occasional mild darkening to contents, a few tears (including large tears to a leaf and plate); else a near fine set.
