Second of the Valgrisi Venice editions with the large woodcuts, and the first Italian vernacular edition so illustrated, with woodcut portrait of the author on m8v and over 950 large woodcuts in text. Provenance : Contemporary ink inscription on title (partially washed out) -- ink stamp of a heart shape surmounted by a crucifix with monogram "DLG" on title margin and final leaf verso -- Kenneth K.
