Seltene erste Ausgabe. – Adams G 147 – Mortimer 244: “First edition of these ancient texts on surveying, edited by Galland and Adrien Turnebe from a manuscript which they found in the library of the monastery of Saint-Bertin at Saint-Orner. Galland’s name heads the dedication to the cardinal de Lorraine. – Thirteen full pages of woodcuts of land measurement conclude the commentary of Aggenus Urbicus on Frontinus. The succeeding texts are illustrated with one hundred thirty-four similar subjects and diagrams (including two repetitions), and nine pages of the symbols used in recording surveys”. – Modernes Exlibris, leicht gebräunt, teilweise schwach wasserfleckig und wellig.
