FIRST EDITION. Engraved titles by Prestele after Neureuther and 300 lithographed plates (292 colored by hand, 8 of these folding, 8 uncolored plates), plus a duplicate of plate 39, by F.J.U. Prestele, J.W. Sigrist and others after G.W. Bischoff and others. A pioneering general flora of Brazil which was supplemented by Pohl Plantarum Brasiliae icones et descriptiones hactenus ineditae (1826-1833, see lot 119).
