MARILYN MONROE A photographic print of Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller, taken during their visit to London in July 1956 for the filming of 'The Prince and the Showgirl', silver print, bearing 'Fox Photos' ink stamp to the reverse, 25.5 x 31cm, along with an extract from a re-printed archived news story titled 'The day London fell in Love with Marilyn Monroe', originally published in the Observer on 15 July 1956, detailing the couple's visit to the city. Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller landed at London Airport (now Heathrow) at 10.40am on 14 July 1956, met by one hundred photographers and fifty reporters, along with her co-star Sir Laurence Olivier and his wife Vivien Leigh. Monroe spent the next four months filming what became 'The Prince and the Showgirl', meanwhile beguiling the British public and press with her famous charm.
