Marcantonio Raimondi (c. 1480-c. 1534) Le Jeune et le vieux Bacchus. Eau-forte (vraisemblablement d’après Giulio Romano). 120 x 157. Bartsch 294 ; Shoemaker 52. Belle épreuve rognée de plusieurs millimètres à l’intérieur du sujet latéralement et de plus d’une dizaine en tête (l’arbre et les nuages incomplets). Courte déchirure en pied dans la barrique. Petites traces de colle en tête au verso. Ex-coll. A. J. Hachette (Lugt 132) et paraphe à la plume et à l’encre. « Opinions have always fluctuated between Raphael and Giulio Romano as the possible author of the engraving’s design. Recent scholars have convincingly suggested that it was by Giulio because of the similarities between this work and Marcantonio’s contemporary engraving after Giulio’s design of Hercules and Antaeus. » (Innis H.
