Manuscript, Torah commentary of the Ba'al Haturim with glosses and compilations; with commentary to Seder Avodat Yom HaKippurim by R. Moshe Cordovero (Ramak). [Yemen, 17th century]. Commentary of R. Yaakov Ba'al HaTurim in Yemenite script (incomplete; several pages missing from the beginning of Sefer Bereshit and the middle of the volume). The scribe added many glosses in smaller handwriting in special "windows" left within the text for this purpose. These glosses include Torah novellae, mainly from Rabbenu Bachaye, but also from other sources. The text of the Ba'al HaTurim contains several minor changes from the printed version. The final page contains a copy of the colophon from the Constantinople printing, 1504. After the commentary of the Ba'al Haturim there is a separate title page that begins the commentary to "Seder Avodat Yom HaKippurim" by R. Moshe Cordovero, copied from the Venice printing, 1587. The copy is almost complete. The end of the manuscript contains two leaves from "Sefer HaYirah" by Rabbenu Nissim of Gerona. [140] leaves. Approximately 20 cm. Fair condition. Stains and wear. Tears and worming to many pages, with several instances of textual damage. New binding.
