Bennett, soldier in the Texas Revolution, being an accounting of monies owed to W.W. Shepperd from the estate of James Sharp, mostly for liquor served to him over several years. Talk about running up a tab! Bennett signs off on the amount as administrator of the estate. He had first come to Texas in the spring of 1834, and at the outbreak of the revolution joined the army. Around the first of March, 1836, he set off for San Antonio with his company of men, but learned of the fall of the Alamo on his way. He then joined up with Sam Houston, and fought with distinction at San Jacinto. After the cessation of hostilities he served in the Texas House of Representatives from 1838 to 1840. The document is also signed by W.W. Shepperd and J.P. Carroll. Lot Amendments Condition: Wear along crease at center, with a small hole, else very good. Item number: 164923
