Manufacturer: Ferock Description: Good Ferock Arts & Crafts footed vase with small reticulated windows and having acute angular designs modeled on one side and raised linen fold-like patterns on the obverse. The 12 inch vessel is covered with a nice mat oatmeal glaze that has crazed granting much character. Impressed marks of Ferock and state ND lettering are on the bottom. Frank Ferrell designed and made the vase for the University of North Dakota utilizing the state’s clay and exhibited the vessel at the National Corn Exhibition in Omaha, Nebraska in 1909. This impressive vessel is featured in two books authored by Ken Forster “University of North Dakota Pottery, a history and comparative study”, page 8 and “Alternative American Ceramics 1870-1955”, page 212. Excellent condition.
