MAIAKOVSKII, Vladimir Vladimirovich (1893-1930) and Kazimir Severinovich MALEVICH (1878-1935). A collection of seven coloured lithographic postcards from the First World War. Moscow: Segodniashnii Lubok, circa 1914-1915]. Each 140 x 90mm., with two-line text by Maiakovskii and illustrations after Malevich by the lithographic press of S. Mukharskii. (Slightly discoloured, one with stains near head); and 9 printed bookplates of P.V. Gubar, 7 with abstract design in black, gray and red possibly by Il'ia Chashnik. A large number of patriotic posters and postcards were produced by the Modern Lubok in the first years of the Great War, with designs by various artists. Despite lack of documentation several of these can be attributed to Malevich on sylistic grounds, and from known works by Malevich. (16)
