Mahogany repeating bracket clock by Richard Willcocks, circa 1790. 8 day twin fusee movement with verge escapement and striking on a bell. Pull repeat facility with cord. The break arch dial with engraved corners and swags, Roman and Arabic numerals, one minute track, strike/silent function in the arch above 12 o' clock and signed 'Willcocks London'. The movement back plate with engraving to the edges and signed 'Richard Willcocks London'. The break arch mahogany case with brass bound three pad top, brass carrying handle, brass side frets and standing on four brass feet. Height 430 mm / 17 in. Richard Willcocks was apprenticed to the highly respected clockmaker Aynsworth Thwaites in London in October 1773 and was granted his freedom in June 1782. He is listed at Clerkenwell from 1790-1800.
