The panoramic camera photographed long sections of the surface, 205 by 13 miles, on 4 foot by 4½ inch strips of film. The film take-up cassette was removed from the panoramic camera by the Command Module Pilot during trans-Earth trajectory, and was returned to Earth in the Command Module. This system was first used on Apollo 15.
