Lot 3271 Lot Withdrawn Local Interest - a Victorian Neo-Gothic EPNS-mounted oak stationery cabinet Lot Withdrawn Local Interest - a Victorian Neo-Gothic EPNS-mounted oak stationery cabinet, enclosing an archive of Mr David and Mrs Flora Fleming of Derby & family, Mr Fleming's work as an engineer for Jessops in Howrah, West Bengal India, including his visiting cards with dual Howrah and Derby addresses, couple's passports throughout the 1920s with stamps far the Far East and Hindu subcontinent, Mrs Fleming (née Stevenson's) Cox & Co of Calcutta banking pocket account commencing with £1200 in credit in November 1923, National Bank of India cheques to be cashed at the National Provincial & Union Bank of England's Derby branch, further ephemera from their post-Indian life back in Derby, comprising driving licenses, further bank and building society account books, correspondence, telegrams, etc., oversailing top above a fall front, enclosing a letter rack flanked by three small drawings, fold-out gilt-embossed black morocco hinged writing surface revealing a pair of wells, dished pen tray and further square tidy and cover, Bramah-type lock, skirted base, squared carrying handles to sides, 29cm high, 43cm wide, c. 1880
