Liner features sand textured painted finish with helmet showing a similar finish to exterior in semi-gloss paint. 2.) 11" long by 9" wide by 6" tall. Replica Type 90 Helmet with Imperial Japanese Navy emblem to brow. Item is painted tan with dark brown Naval emblem. Liner composed of an oversized leather band with three leather flaps terminating in double ends adjusted via string. Cover is most likely an early Nakata replica manufactured from surplus Japanese raincoats. Shows no manufacturer markings to interior liner which also lacks the weathering present to outside surface. 4.) 13.5" long by 9.25" wide by 6.75" tall. Reproduction Model 1916 Stahlhelm with leather chinstrap and suspension mounted to metal liner. Pressed fiber pattern helmet with faux ventilator dome on top. Outer layer is composed of olive drab cloth with a bright green inner lining. Interior of helmet shows marking "U.S.N./CONTRACT N140/62236s-19047B" but lacks a manufacturer marking. The use of four folds in the faux puggaree suggests it was manufactured by Hawley Products, the same manufacturer responsible for making the early fiber helmet liners for the M1 helmet. Item features a rubberized sweatband attached to the interior by three grommets. Rear of sweatband shows four grommets and laces to allow user to adjust it to fit. Sweatband is further attached to sliding mounts on helmet permitting further adjustment. Non-elastic chinstrap is attached to the headband mount by hooks and front of helmet features an additional grommet for mounting a cap badge. Design consistent with late-WWII Navy contract helmets no precise date marks apparent. Provenance:From the Collection of Ralph Edward Smith Condition: 1.) Good. Liner is missing sweatband but shows little sign of use with some abrasions to paint from insertion into helmet. Helmet exterior shows rust discoloration to brow with spots of patina and oxidation forming to rim. 2.) Very Good. Edge of helmets shows some flaking to paint with patina forming to exposed surfaces. Liner has some stains and stiffness to material. 3.) Very Good. Edge of helmet shows some bubbling to paint and flaking with a patina forming to exposed material. Some residue to suspension flaps. Helmet cover shows some discolorations with a small hole worn through wool felt star. A dab of yellow epoxy paint is visible to center of star. 4.) Very Good. Overall painted finish is strong with some light scratches to left interior and spots of flaked off paint to crown. Exposed metal shows oxidation. Some further spots of oxidation visible to helmet liner and discolorations to suspension. 5.) Very good. Fiber lining is loose beneath rim in two spots at rear of hel
