LOT OF 2: 1906 CAVALRY SABER AND 1872 ARTILLERY SABER.

Lot consists of: two American swords, both standard configuration. (A) 1906 pattern cavalry saber and scabbard. "ASCo / ordnance bomb / 1906" obverse ricasso,"US / JC" inspection mark reverse. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. Sight wear to leather grip. Pad in place. Dark patina to steel hilt. Scattered small grey spots to blade, good point, two small nicks to blade edge. Overall muted silver tone. Scabbard with good color, some dusty brown to surface. (B) 1872 Light Artillery Officer. Horstmann Philadelphia marked obverse. Light maker mark reverse ricasso. Likely Weyersberg. CONDITION: Good. Toned brass hilt with very good grip. Scabbard body with brown stains at drag and from between mounts to throat. Remains of braided leather sword knot on hilt. Blade shows silver grey with dark grey and brown spots, grey area near hilt. Light etching with owner name seems to be ""M.F. Harmon." This would be Millard Fillmore Harmon (1856-1922,) West Point 1876-1880. Appointed from PA. 2 Lt. 5 Inf. 12 June 1880. Transferred to 1 Artillery 21 July 1880. 1 Lt. 4 Dec. 1888. Capt. 2 Art. 2 Mar. 1899. Art. Corps. 2 Feb. 1901. Harmon's son was West Point Class of 1912, served in the Philippines, on the Mexican Border, flew in World War I and won the Croix-de-Guerre, became a Lieutenant General in World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater.
