Title: Lot of 15 negatives / prints of Bobby Jones winning his Grand Slam at the 1930 National Amateur Golf Championship, Merion Country Club, Pennsylvania Author: ** Place: Pennsylvania Publisher: Date: 1930 Description: Original negatives, 2½x3½; accompanied with a developed snap-shot photo (1 for each), 10 prints are original sepia tone (some with a rubberstamped code on the verso), other 5 are later produced and black and white. On September 27, 1930, Bobby Jones completed and finalized the first and only Grand Slam in golf history by winning the U.S. Amateur Open at the Merion Golf Club, Pennsylvania, and the other three majors earlier in the year. These photographs show Jones walking the course during the tournament amongst crowds of spectators and reporters, going from tee to tee, and ultimately the trophy ceremony, including one with several film cameras, a microphone and sea of admirers entirely devoting their attention to Jones as he is giving his speech. Photographer unknown. Lot Amendments Condition: A small and consistent hole or bump to one side caused from camera extraction; minor age wear; else near fine overall. Item number: 176343
