Contemporary vellum, manuscript title on spine, red edges (title faded). AN UNUSUAL SAMMELBAND OF FOUR CLOSELY-CONNECTED WORKS ON INDIGENOUS PRUSSIAN FLOWERS. Loesel's Flora Prussica was edited by Johann Gotsched, who received the manuscript and plates from Loesel's estate, and fittingly published the work in Königsberg, the university town where Loesel had been professor of medicine (1639-1655). To this the three later works by Helwing, the first containing 12 fine etchings of anemones, form valued additions. ALL RARE.
