(Some spotting to margins of mounts of many of the plates, small tear to outer blank margin of mount to plate 32.) Contemporary brown straight-grained morocco gilt, g.e. (joints, corners and head and foot of spines neatly repaired, some light scuffing). Provenance : Malcolm of Poltalloch (armorial bookplate). A fine and rare deluxe publication, the original subscriber's list limited to 89 names. The route around Italy included visits to Lugano, Milan, Turin, Genoa, Florence, Rome and its vicinity, Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento, Amalfi, Assisi, Perugia, Bologna, Ferrara, Venice and Padua. (2)
