LINNAEUS, CARL. [Collection of works]. 23 works in 38 volumes : Hortus Upsaliensis... Vol.I. Stockholm: 1748. 8vo, 200 x 120mm., contemporary marbled sheep, light worming to spine, title and final leaf browned. FIRST EDITION. 3 folding engraved plates. The work is complete in one vol., it is not clear what the 'vol.I' on the title signifies: the confusion caused may explain why Wetsten of Amsterdam substituted his own titles in the copies that he sold (see Hunt 533). Soulsby 324; Stafleu & Cowan TL2 4746. Robert de Belder -- Materia medica. Stockholm: 1749. 8vo, 198 x 120mm., contemporary mottled calf, spine gilt, upper joint split, corners worn, some spotting to contents, folding plate torn and repaired. FIRST EDITION. Engraved frontispiece, folding engraved plate. Extensive early marginal annotations. Soulsby 968; Stafleu & Cowan TL2 4751. G.Hofgren, signature and stamps; J.Thomander, signature -- Philosophia Botanica.
