First use of the woodcut series by Jörg Breu illustrating Lichtenberger's prognostications. Breu's series was reprinted in the 1528 and 1530 editions printed at Augsburg and Strassburg, respectively; it in turn is dependent on the series illustrating the first edition of 1488. Lichtenberger was astrologer to the court of the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick III, and his prognostications enjoyed immediate and lasting success, being printed up to the 19th-century. Although Dodgson (II, p.424, 10a) cites an undated edition of about 1524-5, it does not agree with any edition in VD-16.
