lot of 4 items by both Massachusetts Senators. Includes: Kennedy, John F. (1917-1963), TLS as Senator (1953-1960), 1p, 8.5 x 11", Washington, DC, June 6, 1955. On Senate stationery. Concerns an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy for 1956. With franked transmittal envelope with Kennedy's printed signature. Includes the copy of Kennedy's "How Should Cadets Be Picked?" mentioned in letter. PLUS Western Union telegram from John Kennedy 2pp, 5.75 x 8", Washington, DC, 10 Nov. 1955, informing this same individual to whom the previous letter is addressed to report to the army base in Boston to undergo preliminary examinations necessary for cadets ("No parking spaces are available"). PLUS Saltonstall, Leverett (1892-1979), as Senator (MA) (1945-1966). TLS, 1p, 8 x 10.25", Washington, DC, 3 June 1955, on Senate Armed Services Committee stationery. Concerns the same application to USMA. With franked transmittal envelope. AND Western Union telegram from Saltonstall, 5.75. x 8", Boston, MA, 20 Dec. 1955, asking applicant to stop by his Boston office if still interested in the West Point appointment. Condition:Both letters have usual folds, else excellent. Telegrams slightly toned, partial separations at folds.
