Her chief influences were French, but she also took note of Paul Henry and Roderic O'Conor She favoured a sunny palette with some impasto, using dark tones carefully, and her use of shades of white and off-whites is masterly. Her study of The Flower Market is a beautifully airy exercise in light and shade, with great, relaxed vitality.
