Less than 3,000 miles from new 1988 FERRARI MONDIAL 3.2 CABRIOLET Registration No. F474 OVT Chassis No. 76769 Engine No. 11745 Light metallic blue with blue leather interior Engine: V8, twin overhead camshafts, Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, 3,185cc, 270bhp at 7,000rpm; Gearbox: five speed manual; Suspension: independent front and rear with wishbones, coil springs and telescopic shock absorbers; Brakes: hydraulic disc all-round. Right hand drive. The Mondial, meaning 'world' is one of the few Ferrari models to have a non-numerical title, borrowing its name from that of the four cylinder sports racing cars of the 1950s. Introduced in March 1980 after being launched in Geneva, the Mondial for the 1980s was powered by a 3 litre V8 and served as a replacement for the 308 GT4. Similarly it was of 2+2 configuration, though styling like the other contemporary models was entrusted to Pinin Farina. A larger car than its predecessor, it provided much more comfort for its passengers and was equipped with Connolly leather upholstery, air conditioning, central locking and electrically adjustable mirrors as standard. Primarily to serve the demanding North American market, Ferrari decided to build a convertible variant of the Mondial. First seen in 1983, the initial model utilised the 240bhp Quattrovalvole engine and when production ceased in 1985 in excess of 600 had been delivered. For the 1986 model year it was decided to improve and update the Mondial; the engine capacity was increased to 3,185cc and power rose significantly to 270bhp, visually the car was transformed by the fitment of (larger) 16 inch alloy wheels. Supplied new by Strattons of Wilmslow on August 1st 1988 to Mr Leon Mazurek and finished in light blue with dark blue leather interior. Sixteen years later this stunning 'timewarp' example has covered a mere 2,961 miles. Not one aspect of the car can be faulted upon, this car is nothing short of exceptional and thus is an enviable opportunity to experience an 'as new' Mondiale cabriolet over a decade since production of the model ceased. production of the model ceased. production of the model ceased.
