Renouard, 1813. 12° (179 x 107mm.), PRINTED ON VELLUM, half title, engraved frontispiece and 2 plates by de Ghendt, Simonet and de Villiers after Desenne, Guérin and Moreau (a few very light spots), 19th-century green morocco gilt by Bauzonnet, triple fillets on sides, raised bands, gilt-lettered spine, ruled with a triple gilt fillets, uncut, in a green roan box, spine lettered in gilt. Provenance : Robert Hoe. ONE OF THREE COPIES PRINTED ON VELLUM, WITH A MANUSCRIPT LETTER FROM THE AUTHOR TO RENOUARD loosely inserted at the front. In the letter Legouve expresses his gratitude for the kind present. He explains that he regretted not having this work by a friend who was dear to him.
