Lebanon County, Pennsylvania painted pine dower chest, dated 1794, initialed KH, the decoration attributed to Johan Rank, the front decorated with three ivory panels with potted tulips and an ochre sponged ground, 22 1/2" h., 50" w. Provenance: Descended in the Humphrey family to the present owner. Condition:Overall good with expected wear. A couple knot patches to lid. 1" height loss to one rear foot.
