Le Grand Dauphin visiting an encampment, an interesting fan, the paper leaf painted with what appear to be the Grand Dauphin and his son Louis, duc de Bourgogne, both wearing the ribbon of the Saint Esprit, Marie-Christine of Bavaria, several courtiers, a noble lady and gentleman stepping out of a large building on the right, with resting soldiers on the left and in the background, the verso with a tree, flowers, birds and butterflies, the ivory sticks pierced and painted with urns, faces and gold dots imitating piqué work, the guard sticks piqué with gold - 10in. (25.5cm), French, probably 1693-94; and an interesting fan case of black morocco stamped with fleurs de lys and the maker's stamp DV in a heart with star below - French, early 18th century See Illustration
