Lot of 18 including four straight razors, two photographs, one cabinet card, five advertising trading cards, one advertising catalog, and eight other miscellaneous advertising ephemera. Photograph, 9.5 x 7 in., Dressmaking, no studio imprint. Photograph, 7.5 x 6 in., Most Famous Easter Egg, credited to the Associated Press, March 17, 1935. Photograph of the Faberge jade egg which is covered in platinum, gold and diamonds. It was given to the Czar's mother in 1899. Cabinet Card, "Lawn View of New United States Hotel," Baker and Record Photographers, Ainsworth, Tompkins, Perry and Co. It's Enuf Better. Cincinnati, OH: The Day and Night Tobacco Co., 1906. 16pp., 5.75 x 8.5 in. This pamphlet is from the Day and Night Chewing and Smoking Tobacco is a catalog advertising various home items including shaving supplies. One straight razor, "Black Beauty," Schlenker's, Germany. Can be found in the Day and Night catalog. One straight razor, Mike Thomas, Boston, Mass. Features portraits of Wilson and Marshall on the blade. Handle has a multi-colored floral design. One straight razor, "Day and Night Tobacco" is inscribed on the blade, Worchester Razor Co., Worchester, Mass. One straight razor, "America My Home" is inscribed on the blade, Najeeb, Mallur? and Co. The blade depicts a sunrise, a ship and the Statue of Liberty. Four trade cards of "Hans Schloppenberger," Geo Topp., 1882. 2.75 x 4 in. These cards depict Mr. Hans Schloppenberger as works his way up from being a new waiter at a brewery to owning his own brewery. The cards go in chronological order from 1-4 with each card having a number in the upper right corner. On the bottom of each card shows how many years Hans Schloppenberger has been working. One trade card, "Ye Great Men of ye Day," Geo. Francis Train, ye Philosopher. 2.25 x 3.5 in. Features a man sitting on a park bench with an umbrella covering his face. On the bench is inscribed Madison Park. Four shadow cards featuring different cut-out "shadow pictures," Gast Lith. Co., New York, Woolson Spice Co., 1895. 5 x 4 in. These shadow cards feature floral designs that when cut out and placed in front of a light source display prominent females in history including Mrs. Harrison, Mrs. Langtry, Mrs. Garfield, and Mrs. Cleveland. One advertising card, "Santa Cruz Big Tree," Hotel St. George, Santa Cruz, California, J.J.C. Leonard Prop. 3 x 5 in. On the back describes the notable trees in Santa Cruz, California. One advertising card for "Sani-Flush: Disinfects as it Cleans," 6.25 x 3.25 in. One advertising mechanical cut-out for R and G corsets, Frank H. Carpenter, Poughkeepsie, NY. 3 x 7 in. One mechanical advertisement for General Arthur Cigar, Kerbs, Wertheim and Schiffer, New York. 4.75 x 7.75 in. Features the saying, "If you want a good cigar, go spread yourself and smoke." Hotel St. George printed card lists presidents and dignitaries that stayed at the hotel on reverse side.
