French gilted brass mounted hunting sword with a straight double edge blade, engraved and gilted with foliage and trophies on a blued panel. The hilt comprises a crossguard cast with dog heads, checkered grip and lion's head pommel. The leather scabbard retaining its throat featuring an engraved panel with boar's head within a hunting horn decoration, drag missing. CONDITION: Blade is mostly bright with areas of minor dark staining mixed with small areas of pitting, gilt and blue decoration show wear. Grip retains most of its gilt finish.
