Includes: Frederick Leighton, John Everett Millais John William Waterhouse (autograph letter to the Art Editor, reading “Mr J W Waterhouse regrets that it is impossible for him to give permission to Nelson & Sons to reproduce his picture ‘Ulysses and the Sirens’ in colours but…could give them permission to reproduce it in black and white. The charge would be 5 guineas”, two pages, 8vo, 10 Hall Road, 9 January 1913), Frederick Godall (autograph letter to the Prince of Wales regarding five works whose owner consented to lend them for the 1878 Paris Universal Exhibition), Henry Fuseli (study of a leg with Latin inscription), Sir Samuels Luke Fildes (two autograph letters signed to the director of The Magazine of Art, the first asking a messenger to come and get some photographs, the second apologising that he cannot talk to the owner of a painting they want to reproduce, three pages, 8vo, October 1879), Edward Linley Sambourne (signed drawing of Punch carrying a letter), Philip H Calderon (ink drawing of he and Adolphus Storey saving W F Yeames from drowning when he fell into the moat at Hever whilst they were on a sketching trip with the St Johns Wood Clique), Edward Armitage Stanley Inchbold Cowan Dobson William J Calcott, c. 1820s-1910s (quantity) -- Sold as seen
