A Second World War deck watch having a calibre 48 three-quarter plate movement signed and numbered on the backplate A Lange & Sohne, Glashutte i.SA, 202769, being one of the first fitted with this upgraded movement in circa 1940, with a Brequet overcoil hairspring with micrometer regulation to the bi-metallic compensating balance, the round silvered dial having black Roman numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial, up-and-down state-of -wind dial and unsigned as was the norm with early versions of this model, with blued steel spade hands, the case with a snap-on back and oval bow, the inside of the back signed for the maker with the case number 1084439 the rear of the inner cuvee engraved Werk, A Lange & Sohne, Nr. 202769, Fertiggestellt, Andreas Huber, Munchen - Berlin, the rear of the case with a German insignia along with a repeat of the movement number and further number M10317, 60mm diameter.
