Kitagawa Utamaro (1754-1806) Chobunsai Eishi (1756-1829) Four prints, the first, the center sheet of the pentaptych entitled Susuhaki (House-cleaning), women pausing to watch the master of the house in an adjoining sheet, signed Utamaro hitsu and published by Yamadaya Sanshiro; the second, the center sheet of a triptych entitled Enoshima Iwaya no tsuri asobi (Fishing at Iwaya, Enoshima), unsigned, published by Fushimiya Zenroku; the third, the left sheet of a triptych of beauties fishing in a boat under the crowded Ryogoku Bridge in summer, entitled Ryogoku bashi shita no amibune (Fishing boats with nets under Ryogoku Bridge), signed Utamaro ga and published by Fushimiya Zenroku; and the fourth, the left sheet of a triptych depicting Genji entertained by beauties in a pavilion, signed Eishi ga and published by Izumiya Ichibei--good impressions, slightly faded, soiled and spotted, centerfold, tears restored second and fourth, large ink stain fourth oban tate-e : 38.9 x 25.7cm. each approx.
