Late 18th/early 19th century Comprising five oban and one chuban bijin-ga: one by Utamaro depicting the courtesan Ichikawa of the House of Matsuba, seated smoking tabako, with a koma-e cartouche on her left side, published by Ezakiya Kichibei, signed Utamaro hitsu, one by the Utagawa School depicting the courtesan Takigawa and her kamuro of the house of Ogi, with publisher's seal of Tsuruya Kinsuke, the third, a sheet from a triptych by Eishi, depicting two geisha and their client, published by Wakasaya Yoichi, signed Eishi ga, a chuban print by Toyokuni entitled Jyugatsu from the series Furyu Jyunigatsu, published by Izumiya Ichibei, signed Toyokuni ga, the last by Toyohiro, depicting a woman walking by a river carrying a chochin, published by Matsuyasu, signed Toyohiro ga. The smallest 25cm x 18cm (9 7/8in x 7 1/8in), the largest 37.5cm x 25cm (14¾in x 9 7/8in), all framed and glazed. (5).
