Khwaja Shams al-Din Hafiz Shirazi: Diwan-i Hafiz Timurid Persia, Dated AH 906/1500-1 AD Persian manuscript on gold-sprinkled buff tissue paper, 141ff. each with 15ll. of tiny black nasta'liq arranged in two columns divided by gold rules, headings in blue within gold panels, occasional gold and polychrome rosettes, text within gold margins, final folio with colophon signed by Muhammad 'Ala al-Din and dated Safar 906, generally excellent condition, opening folio with fine blue and gold illumination, restoration and small damage, preceding page with fine shamsa , in early Qajar lacquer binding with floral decoration, doublures with two very fine early Qajar lacquer paintings, one of a mother and child, the other of a group of women with a dervish signed Muhammad Hasan Shirazi, good condition Folio 5¾ x 3¼in. (14.5 x 8.5cm.); text 3½ x 1¾in. (9 x 4.5cm.)
