KENNEDY, John Fitzgerald. Autograph notes and small pencil drawings on a typescript outline, "Suggested Agenda Hyannis Port Meeting," n.p., n.d. 2 pages, 4to , very fine. KENNEDY DAYDREAMS ABOUT SAILING. An interesting typescript agenda for discussions at the Hyannis Port meeting on which Kennedy has drawn a sailboat lazily floating upon the waters. The agenda is in outline form, listing major headings and subheadings. On page one, Kennedy has drawn a partial star next to the title. The first section addresses recommendations on congressional actions with the subheadings: Education, Minimum Wage, Health, Housing, Civil Rights, Other and "what can we do to help," which has been subdivided into Governors and Educators. Kennedy has made a pencil slash next to each topic. Next to Education he has written "scholarship" and next to Other, "unemployment." Section two is entitled "Discussion with Kennedy of Issues Affecting Michigan." Section three addresses the campaign role of Governor Williams and focuses upon Kennedy's desired approach to issues, group focuses, and geographic focuses. Kennedy has penciled a slash next to one item. Page two focuses upon Nationality groups (with an interesting note concerning groups in costume meeting Kennedy at airports), full text platform, Michigan scheduling, dominant K issues, the White House Conference on Aging, "'How' put across as well as 'what' issues," how to coordinate the Brain Trust, group association and women in the campaign. Kennedy has checked several items on this page and has written "being reviewed" next to the section on the Brain Trust. On the right margin Kennedy has drawn two diamonds (one with a checkerboard pattern), a cube and a triangle. At the bottom of the page, Kennedy has drawn a one sail sailboat floating upon the waves with quickly sketched clouds on the horizon. John F. Kennedy found particular pleasure in sailing when his busy schedule would allow.
