Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) Four woodcuts from the series Tokyo nijukkei (Twenty views of Tokyo): Asakusa Kannon no yukibare (Clearing weather after snow, Asakusa Kannon Temple), 1926; Ueno Kiyomizudo (Kiyomizu Hall, Ueno), 1928, the version printed with pink trees and bright blue sky; Shinobazu no ike no ame (Rain at Shinobazu Pond), 1929, version with white edges of clouds and grey ripples in water; and Magome no tsuki (Moon at Magome), 1930), each signed Hasui and sealed Kawase and published by Watanabe Shozaburo--very good impressions, good color, slight toning to margins of last 15 1/8 x 10¼in.
