"La femme au rocher" ou "Le cabinet de Barbe-Bleue" Huile sur panneau, anonyme de la fin du XVIIème siècle, école italienne, Rome. Oeuvre d'une incroyable modernité, qui sans aucun prétexte mythologique, présente une femme nue de son temps. Enfermée au XIXème siècle dans un coffret verrouillé, sur lequel est inscrit en néerlandais, non sans humour, «Kasken van den Blauwe Baerd»: «Le cabinet de Barbe-bleue» surmonté d'une clé. Le dispositif du coffret, cabinet avec volet à glissière verrouillé, crée une mise en scène, qui suscite d'autant plus le désir de lever de voile et réveille un exquis désir d'indiscrétion. Ce tableau peut être mis en rapport avec l' «Origine du Monde» de Courbet. Oeuvre dont l'intitulé éminemment bourgeois entre en totale contradiction avec le contenu du sujet, un sexe de femme offert au regard du spectateur. Tableau, qui plus est, enfermé lui aussi par Lacan, l'ancien propriétaire derrière un volet, aujourd'hui perdu, peint par son beau-frère, André Masson Ce dispositif très intéressant, met en valeur de la dimension interdite, cachée du sujet. Par-delà, l'aspect hautement érotique et osé de la position de cette femme offrant au regard du spectateur le fruit défendu, source de plaisir et de maternité, cette oeuvre présente une dimension philosophique.
