Jonathan Frost, Exeter, an oak longcase clock the eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell, the twelve-inch brass dial having an engraved chapter with black Roman numerals and Arabic five-minute outer numerals, four-season corner spandrels depicted by men working in the field, with the dial centre having a subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture and engraved with the maker's name Jon. Frost, Exeter, with blued steel hands, the flat-topped oak case with mahogany cross-banding to the base and trunk door, the hood with a mahogany door, fretwork, and three-quarter pillars with giltwood capitals, height 200cm * Biography Jonathan Frost is recorded as working at New Bridge, Exeter from circa 1789. He recorded four silver watches and a large pair of silver buckles stolen from his shop in 1783 and in the Exeter Quarter Sessions Jury list of the 29th of December 1788 he is included as ... of St Olave, watchmaker. A longcase clock showing High Water at Topsham was formerly at Bradfield House.
